Sophie and her audience

I was sad to hear that there'd be no more singles from Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Trip the light fantastic" album.
I was even sadder to hear that she'd post-poned the tour that i'd bought tickets for in favour of being Take That's support on their new tour. Thankfully the dates have been re-arranged for next March so at least it's something to look forward to.

There's also gonna be a Sophie Greatest Hits album before Christmas and I've read that she's looking for the ellusive "killer single" to release to promote it. Calvin Harris is doing some work for it if the gossip is to be believed.
Now Kylie worked with Groove Armada recently. Their track was apparently a corker but there wasn't enough time left to complete it. They said on their blog...

"Is there any update on you chaps working with Kylie?
Well, I'm afraid it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Which is a bit annoying for us, but much more annoying for her because she's going to miss out on one of the songs of the century! To be honest, I always went into the project feeling it was like a lottery ticket and that we only ever had a small chance of our number coming up, but if we did, then we were both going to be incredibly rich!"

Now Sophie's worked with Andy Cato on her 2nd solo album had has released singles she's had no part in writing before so it wouldn't be such a stretch of the imagination to think that they'd gladly give her the track in question.
Also Sophie said on the Jo Whiley show in about 2002 that she turned down "Can't get you out of my head" so it'd be total pop symmetry if she had a massive hit with "Song 4 Kylie" (or whatever it's called)!!!

As an additional extra track on SEB's hits package I'd also love a re-working pop/electro version of my favourite theaudience (sophie's 1st group) song. It was a b-side to the group's 2nd single and 1st top 50 smash "If you can't do it when you're young". The little link below might be an MP3 of it!

KYlie on Radio 1 from the 90's

Dunno if you''re a Kylie fan at all (the best people usually are) but i''ve ripped some Radio 1 live songs from the 90''s from a cassette tonight.

Put Yourself In My Place & if you don''t love me from 1995 on the Simon Mayo Show.
These pair are quite good quality

Some Kind Of Bliss & Did it again from her 1997 appearence on The Mark & Lard Breakfast show.
These recordings are a bit quiet but if you crank it up to 11 you can easily get he jist

I've got some mp3's of the interviews from these sessions but they're 20MB+ i'll upload them if anyone begs me to!

I've also discovered some britpop gems, suede/elastica/blur/pulp sessions.

And a HILARIOUS interview of Madonna circa 1995 with Tommy Vance (i think) where she's banging on about film projects and said the following.
"A young Italian director - he's American"
and about some other director "... he's European AND he's German"

Just shout if you're interested kids!

Parting gift;
Classic Mark & Lard radio "comedy sketch" http://www.zshare.net/audio/35109916759926/

Love ya

Ste xx
